The Romans in Britain

The first Roman to land in Britain was Julius Caesar in 55 and 54 BC.

The Emperor Claudius re-conquered Britain in 43 AD using elephants. Just imagine how you would feel if you had never seen such an animal before !

In 60 AD Queen Boudica led a revolt against the Romans, but she was defeated.

In AD 78 the Roman governor Agricloa tried to invade Scotland. The Romans soon gave this up and made a border along Hadrian's Wall in 122 AD.

From 364 AD onwards Britain was raided by the Saxons, Picts, and Scots.

The Roman armies left in 407 AD.

For each date describe the historical event that happened.
