Headstones follow a similar design with badge of the regiment; the name, rank, regiment, age and
date of death; a cross or Star of David if Jewish; and an inscription at the base which would be
decided and paid for by the family (the authorities in Canada and Australia did not charge
families for inscriptions); officers and men were buried side by side
