March 7th, 1916. I went to early service this morning in a brewery and to a church in a loft. The Chaplain I should say was a good un, young and sound man. It is raining as usual and cold. Claude Wreford Brown

At Poperinghe we visited a church in a loft !
The place was called Talbot House and it was used by soldiers during the war
We also saw the post where soldiers who had deserted were shot dead

In the afternoon we visited Tyne Cott Military Cemetery
This is the largest British Military Cemetery in the world

October 4th, 1915. I lost another man this morning, shrapnel to the head. A young lad, his mother's joy I

At 8pm we attended the last post ceremony at the Menin Gate in Ypres
