Local Soldier Dangerously Wounded

Mrs David Hardie, Mungle Street, West Calder, has been officially notified that her son Pte John Hardie, of the Wiltshire Regiment, has been seriously wounded by gunshot in the thigh. Pte Hardie enlisted two years ago, and has been nine months in France. In civil life he was employed as a grocer with West Calder Co-operative Society. Other two brothers are serving.
