Will never from memory fade,
Nor yet will we forget
The noble sacrifice he made.

He marched away so bravely, his young head proudly held,
His footsteps never faltered, his courage never failed;
Then on the field of battle he proudly took his place,
And fought and died for Britain, and the honour of his race.
