GRANDISON - In loving memory of 21863 Pte William Grandison, Royal Scots, who was killed in action at the Somme on 22nd July, 1916.
So ready to answer the call of the brave, Though he knew glory's path oft' leads to the grave. What more or what better could any man give Than to die for his country that others might live Honour to those in battle slain, Who died that we might freedom gain; To their brave memory homage give; On history's pages their deeds shall live. One of the unreturning heroes, He numbers one of the brave.
Inserted by Mr and Mrs Henderson, Station Lodge, Harburn, West Calder.
