ARNOTT - At Military Hospital, Edinburgh Castle, on the 8th September, James Arnott, dearly beloved husband of Minnie Arnott, King Street, West Calder, aged 27 years.

We'll catch the broken threads again,
And finish what we here began,
Heaven will the mysteries explain,
And then, ah ! then we'll understand.

LOCAL SOLDIERS DEATH - The death took place at the Military Hospital, Edniburgh Castle, on Monday last, of Mr James Arnott, formerly of King Street, West Calder.

Previous to the war he acted as a chauffeur with the West Calder Co-operative Society, and was well known in the district.

When he joined the Army he was engaged in the Motor Transport section.

His health broke down latterly, and he never recovered from the effects of service.

The body was brought to West Calder and was buried with military honours in the Cemetery yesterday afternoon.
