Mr James Boyd, Mossend, has now received official notice from the War office that his son, L.Cpl Jas. Boyd, Royal Scots, is presumed to have been killed in action. L.Cpl Boyd was reported missing on 2nd August, 1916, and as no further information regarding him could be got, it is presumed that he was killed in the attack which took place on that date. He enlisted shortly after the outbreak of the war, and was called to the colours in December 1914.
