Scottish Military Heritage Museum Centre Project

The Scottish Military Heritage Museum Centre project has been set up to acquire funding to build a centre which will supplement the collection in the National War Museum of Scotland. The centre will cover the history of the Scottish regiments and the Scots men and women who served in the Royal Air Force, Royal Navy and the British Army.

 

To date the city councils of Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen have been approached to provide land suitable for the project. The plan includes a warship, a submarine, armoured fighting vehicles and aircraft. News will be posted regularly on the website regarding the project’s progress.

 

The SMHMC project’s steering committee will be working hand in hand with the appropriate authorities such as the Scottish Museums Council and the National Heritage Lottery Fund.
