SINGING A HAPPY TUNE OF SUCCESS

The group are called Starry Eyed And Laughing, and the name matches their mood.

The new four-man band have just made their first album, entitled “Starry Eyed And Laughing”  which won rave reviews from the critics.

And they are being hailed as the most promising newcomers to the British rock scene for years.

The group was formed a year ago, and until the album was released, they were playing for beer money in small clubs and discos. Now a major British tour is being planned, followed by a trip to America.

Drummer Michael Wackford, aged 21, said: “It’s all a bit bewildering, everything’s happened so fast. None of us have ever played in a professional group before and the whole scene is still new.”
