Jasmine Allen
Jasmine Allen was formed in the early part of the 21st century by three ex-members of Norman and the Nerves (one of the quirkiest and most popular east midlands bands of the last century). Deciding to concentrate more exclusively on the music, without completely losing their sense of fun, Graham, Sid and Geoff recruited friend and former colleague, electric guitar virtuoso, Rockin’ Ron, to complete the line-up.
Musically they decided to specialise in the classic rock and soul tunes of the 1960’s and 70’s, with Ron’s unique use of the guitar synthesiser adding an amazingly effective horn section, strings and piano where needed. As the individual members of the band have many years experience on the club and pub circuit they bring a vast repertoire of music knowledge to every gig so aside

from the core rock and soul tunes they can cover all decades from the 1950’s and many musical styles, very often fulfilling requests from the audience.
Jasmine Allen took their unusual name from the “rough” housing estate in a certain long running ITV police drama. Their goal from the very outset of every appearance is to create a party atmosphere and to get the audience singing along and dancing to classic tunes from the likes of the Kinks, the Who, T-Rex and Cockney Rebel, James Brown, Jackie Wilson and the Blues Brothers and many others. Not to mention some Oasis, Robbie Williams and Green Day when the fancy takes them.
