This book looks at E-Commerce from a management perspective as opposed to complete technical solutions. There are some case studies assuming your company can fit within their moulds. However this is a very good book to read if you want to blag your way into an e-commerce style job!
Topics covered include:-
What Is Electronic Commerce?
The importance of the internet
Handling Money On The Net
Security and Electronic Commerce
Consumer and Business Markets
Offering Custom Products on the Internet
An Electronic Marketplace of Buyers and Sellers
Collaborating on a Distribution Chain
Maximizing the Usefulness of an On-Line Catalogue
Electronic Customer Support
Beginnings of a Virtual Factory
Strategies for E-commerce
The future of E-commerce
The only worry about this book is that it was published in 1997, after e-commerce took off. Interesting as the company I work for recently issued a statement to the effect that e-commerce is about to take off. I guess the stalwarts who issued that statement had only just got round to reading about it! Return To Topics Index
