PhotographyAs a kid, I was quite bad when it came to taking pictures with a camera and film, it was an expensive and tricky business, and more often than not, my shots would have severe camera shake. Since Digital camera became mainstream from 1999, I decided I could take up the hobby, learn from my mistakes and it wouldn't cost more than time and some storage space. I'm still an amateur when it comes to photography, couldn't tell you what an f-stop meant or much about lenses, but I knew that a snap-o-matic digital camera didn't have enough control for me when out and about. So I invested in a Nikon. At the time it was a toss up between a Canon EOS and Nikon D Series. The Nikon reviews only slightly pipped the EOS to the post and so I took the plunge. Oddly enough, the price of the camera body wasn't that dissimilar to my first 2mp digital camera! From here I will share some of my work with you. I should spend more time in the digital darkroom and really make use of Photoshop, but unless otherwise indicated, these photo's are as shot. The nice thing about using Flickr, is that I can share more photo's than the space on this website allows! Of course I'm interested in your constructive feedback to these photo's particularly from the more experienced photographers out there, it's the only way to learn! In case you're interested, the city scape banner used on the website is one of my shots taken of a famous city, do you know where? (C) 1997-2011 Jason Brooks |
