Speleo Vercors is a UK based caving club that specialises in Vercors caving. Speleo Vercors was created to formalise and document the experience of UK cavers that have been meeting (on an ad-hoc basis) in the Vercors for the best part of two decades.

Full Membership is by invitation only and prospective members must demonstrate a long term commitment to Vercors caving as well providing on-going support to the club. Speleo Vercors is not a club for hangers on!

A recent development is Associate Membership where non-cavers who have demonstrated an appreciation for the Vercors can join as an Associate Member. Typically, this level of membership would be for those who have an interest in walking or skiing, who can benefit from the accrued knowledge within the club from many years of exploration on the Vercors Plateau.

Long term projects:

* Access: We are developing an Access data base of all known Vercors caves.

The data base will reference caves by name and grid reference and provide links to surveys and other publications.

* Speleo Dossier 1: We are documenting all previous (caving) visits (by SV members) to the Vercors to date which have been published previously in various journals.

* We are developing an English language: "Cavers Guide to the Vercors."

* Property: Some members of the club are in the process of purchasing a property in the Vercors. Whilst this property (if the project is successful) is nothing to do with the club, it will be available to club members as an option for accommodation whilst in the area.

Benefits: Knowledge - there is a vast amount of Vercors knowledge within the club. The club also produces good quality T shirts and sweat shirts with an embroidered club logo, as well as high quality car stickers.
