Development of the Javelin

Hello and welcome to this website which is dedicated to the Gloster Javelin - the world's first twin-engined delta-wing jet fighter.

My name's Mark and I'm a volunteer member at the Midland Air Museum based at Coventry Airport in the UK. I'd like to introduce you to XA699, our own mark 5 Javelin which is being cared for here at the Museum.

If you haven't visited this site before, then you're very welcome and I hope you enjoy browsing around! If you have been here before over the previous years, welcome back again and I'm sure you'll notice it has been updated and had quite a few changes and additions.

Much of this update has been possible thanks to the kindness of the many people that have emailed me with stories and pictures, also with corrections to the text where my facts were not quite right! I hope I've now made all the appropriate changes and I'd like to extend a big thank you to everyone who has contributed.

As ever, I hope you enjoy the site, please have a look around...
