End of the road

A few pictures of Javelins, sadly at or near the end of their lives...

Stafford Javelin being scrapped

(Here's a little known fact: The pen-nib tail cone from this aircraft, seen being scrapped at Stafford, was actually saved from the scrap man and is currently fitted to XA699!  The original tail cone from XA699 was removed during its time at Cosford and has since been fitted to Cosford's own Mk. 1 Javelin, XA564.)

This Javelin was on display at Manston but has unfortunately been scrapped, however, its instrumentation has been saved and will be fitted into the cockpit section of Javelin XH783  which is in the process of being restored by the Catford Independent Airforce.
