Traditional Jazz in the North West of the U.K.

Welcome to my Traditional Jazz Pages
THIS IS A NO FRILLS WEB SITE
360 pages of News, views and music

The Home Page currently features Terry Lightfoot Jazz Band with a number written by Dickie Hawdon who died on the 25th June 2009. I'm playing this number as a tribute to him, and it's one of the most beautiful jazz blues numbers I've heard, and which is played delightfully by Dickie Hawdon. It's called Dave's Departure, and it was written to mark Dave Steven's departure for Australia where he's lived ever since, but does a 'World tour' each year. He's in Spain in Sept. and he'll be spending a couple of weeks in the UK early Oct.

Welcome to my world of Traditional Jazz. The pages which follow are a tribute to the musicians who have dedicated themselves to playing the music of New Orleans and Dixieland in the North West of the British Isles. Although I try very hard to ensure all the information about the bands and events are correct, please check with the venues concerned before setting out on your journey.
