| Filmed in Black & White in 1962,
this DVD is a gold recording in terms of British Traditional Jazz
Memorabilia. See the young Roy Williams on trombone with the Terry
Lightfoot Band, The Chris Barber Band that we all loved, the antics of
the Temperance Seven, and the costumes that purists objected to.
The storyline is corny and the acting is not gold standard, but the music is as good now as it was then. The film centres around a group of teenagers in a British town, who unite in their struggle to be allowed to listen to jazz music and 'rock and roll' . The mayor tries to ban the jukebox in the local coffeehouse, so the teenagers organise a jazz festival to prove that the music has nothing to do with the devil. There are many other well known faces in the film - FELIX FELTON, ARTHUR MULLARD, TIMOTHY BATESON, HUGH LLOYD, RONNIE STEVENS, FRANK THORNTON, DEREK NIMMO, MARIO FABRIZI, ARNOLD DIAMOND & DERYCK GUYLER.
ALSO ON THE DVD GENE VINCENT THE ROCK N ROLL SINGER 1969 U.K. documentary. A rare film chronicling the first four days of Gene Vincent's 1969 UK tour. Teddy boys welcome Gene as he gets off the plane in London. Gene rehearses with The Wild Angels for a TV show and live gigs. Promoters try to rip him off! Gene performs on TV and in clubs. Terrific rockin' performances including "Be-Bop-A-Lula," "Say Mama," "Baby Blue," and more! 19th November 2009 - The last lot sold out so I've ordered 6 more copies of which 3 are already spoken for. It costs $29 + $9 shipping, which today equates to £24, or even more with commission. I have been able to purchase several copies in bulk, and am able to pass on some of the savings. Unfortunately I have to pay CUSTOMS DUTY and onward postage and packaging, so I can't offer the deal I would like to have done, but I am still able to offer them at the reduced price of £19.50 including postage and packaging. I was slightly disappointed in the presentation of the boxes in that they didn't have a professional looking cover with them, just an information sheet visible on the rear of the box, so I've added my own. However I can assure you you that these are genuine DVDs produced under licence, and not pirated copies. There are a limited number of DVDs available, and it will be available on a first come first served basis, so if you want one, email me to reserve your copy now. Click Here for contact details
