Saturday 25 February	2012 KEITH NICHOLS ALL STAR BAND This band is with us for the 13th time and is always a big hit. Keith's five piece band in various ways form the backbone of classic jazz in this country. Not only the posh jazz but they can play the blues. Lots of talent. Alan Duckles again making a very valuable contribution as guest cornet player. Alan fronts very successful community jazz sessions at The Robert Gillow Pub in Lancaster every Sunday afternoon starting at 12.30pm. BOOK EARLY FOR THE KEITH NICHOLS BAND -WE ALWAYS SELL OUT
Saturday 24 March 2012	HIGH SOCIETY JAZZ BAND This band is going from strength. Formed from established musicians nearly four years ago they find themselves very busy in the North playing classic jazz, New Orleans to Chicago. An important development in 2011 at Roa Island was the inclusion of Brian Judge as guest trumpet player. Brian will again be with the band in 2012. Hopefully, Neil, their piano player, will be fully recovered and with the band. With a bit of luck Jan Sterling will perform her lovely vocals if there is no emergency at her pub, the Pier Hotel in Morecambe where, incidentally, the band play on alternate Sunday afternoons, starting 4.00pm
