In May and June of this year I assisted in a final year degree show project
in silversmithing and jewellery by taking portrait photos of the participants
for display in the degree show. Colin MacIntyre, (Mull Historical Society), also took part,
but is not shown here
as the image used in the degree show was supplied by his management.
The pieces were
'narrative' jewellery,and were abstract interpretations inspired by lyrics of
particular
songs, or by comments collected during the interview process. Some, but not all, of the
participants are shown wearing the final pieces.
