  Transcript of the Will of Ann Barraclough of Low Moor November 1844 Ref Vol 210 Folio 392r made 30 March 1843.  
 

This is the last will and Testament of me Ann Barraclough of Low Moor in the Township of North Bierley in the Parish of Bradford and in the County of York, Farmer, ……..
Next it is my will and desire that, if agreeable to the Low Moor Company, my son William Barraclough may enter to the Farm, Farm House and the appurtenances thereunto belonging which I now occupy as tenent to them, as soon as convenient after my interment, reserving in the said House a quiet and peacable home for my son Joseph Barraclough free of rent or charge so long as he shall feel disposed peacably to dwell there.
And it is also further my will and desire that my said son William shall have the Farming stock and utensils at a fair and reasonable valuation to be taken by two disinterested and fit persons to be chosen as follows. That is to say, one by my son William and the other by my two sons Thomas Barraclough and Joseph Barraclough jointly.
And further it is my will and desire that the amount of the said valuation shall be paid within a period not exceeding six months after my decease.
Also I give and bequeath to my daughter Hannah Garside all my own wearing apparel, my silver Tea Spoons, Sugar Tongs and my large looking Glass.
To my son Thomas, my Clock
and to my son Joseph my Best Bed Stead, Bed, Bedding and Curtains.
As tyo the rest of my household goods and furniture whatsoever I give and bequeath as follows, namely that they be valued or distributed by ticket in the most fair and agreeable manner equally share and share alike amongst my four children and the child or children of my late son John Barraclough making five shares.
With respect to the money and profits which shall be due to me at my death or afterwards, arising out of the Estate and Effects of my late father Jonathan Brook of Huddersfield Iron Founder, after deducting such sums as I have already received, and also after payment of all my other just debts funeral expenses and the expenses of proving this my Last Will and Testament, I will and direct that it shall be divided into five equall parts or shares, four of which I bequeath to my own children Hannah, William Thomas and Joseph and the other share to the two children of my late son John aforesaid, share and share alike, first deducting twenty pounds to be paid to James Fearnley of Royds Hall, Farmer or to his representatives for value received.
Further it is my will that should my death happen before my Grandson John Barraclough attain the age of twenty one years that the amount due after the said deduction shall be put out at interest upon good security as my Executors shall think fit, until such time as my said Grandson shall attain the age of twenty one.
Also it is my will that should my death happen during the minority of my Grandson that the Interest and profits arising from the said shares of my Granchildren aforesaid shall be paid to Martha Barraclough the widow of my late son John. If however either of my Grandchildren die …….
And I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint my two sons William Barraclough and Thomas Barraclough to be the Executors fo this ………
