My branch of the Sutcliffe's moved from the Wibsey area to Morley around 1870.

As far as I know they were in the Wibsey, Northowram area of Bradford/Halifax before 1600. One of the earliest recorded Sutcliffe's, Peter was living in Hipperholme in 1297. Hipperholme lies roughly between Northowram and Wibsey.

I am hoping to add a lot more information to this page, as time allows.

I would be interested to hear from anyone who has come across James Sutcliffe, blacksmith of Wibsey, 1783 to 1841, who married Mary Broadbent at Bradford. He died accidentally in 1841, after falling off a timber balk in Shelf. He was one of my ancestors. I am including his family tree here as a PDF file. Family and extended Family Groups.
