	Whitehurst is my mother's maiden name. The family come from Staffordshire. I have traced the line back to Richard Whitehurst who married and Dorothy Cope on 15 April 1786. It is reputed that my mother was named after this Dorothy, although she died in 1786, some thirty six years before my mother was born. Richard died in 1832 and his Will is listed below.
