How does it work ??
You complete the first module and send it to me. I give you helpful feedback and return your work to you with the second module, and so on.
(You can send all your work by e-mail or post, and I can send your feedback the same way)
When I return your last module (No.5) with the feedback, I also send you:
1) A letter of recommendation about your skills and strengths as a teacher, and
2) Your graded certificate.
(Cert TEFL, Introductory Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language)
You can use the letter in applying for jobs. During your course I also give you detailed help with your C.V.
Who has done it ??
So far 700 teachers and would-be teachers in 15 countries; some before they started teaching, some while teaching.
What is the course ??
"HOW TO TEACH LANGUAGES" prepares you in very practical ways to teach any topics to learners of any age and level, in groups or one-to-one, in language schools or privately.
During the course you read about lessons, techniques, and activities in lessons. Then you write lesson plans adapting those techniques and activities to your style and to other topics. Your lesson plans then become part of your repertoire.
In addition you also learn about your own learning style and your own strengths. You learn how to teach total beginners even when you can't speak their language. You also learn about language, about learning, and about planning lessons.
The course is very adaptable. My personal feedback is flexible to your unique needs, interests and situation, for example giving written career advice and help with adjusting to different cultures.
