My father was born on Wednesday, 31 July 1912 at 18 Anderson Street, Grimsby, Lincolnshire, the son of Arthur Willie and Lily Maud (née PARISH) CADE.
He served an engineering apprenticeship from 10 January 1927 to 31 July 1933 with George F SLEIGHT, Fish Merchant and Trawler Owner, Fish Docks, Grimsby. In 1937 Arthur William's quest for work took him to Essex and the Ford Motor Company Ltd at Dagenham with whom he worked for 30 years.
On 29 December 1937 Arthur William CADE married my mother, Margaret Rose THOMPSON of 54 Torrington Street, Grimsby, at the Parish Church of Clee, Grimsby.
My mother, Margaret Rose (née THOMPSON) CADE was born 12 July 1911, Pendleton, Lancashire, the daughter of Edward Harmston and Bessie (née TAYLOR) THOMPSON.
