CADE FAMILY HISTORY

Ann HARE, born in 1804 at Broughton by Brigg, was the daughter of Francis HARE. He was the third of the five Broughton by Brigg born children of Samuel and Mary HARE. Francis HARE was baptised in 1773, became an agricultural labourer and married Elizabeth RATCLIFF in April 1791.

Elizabeth (née RATCLIFF) HARE was the great, great maternal grandmother of Lily Maud (née PARISH) CADE and had an illegitimate daughter, Hannah, born in 1789. The father of this child was William BEELEY but they did not marry. William married Mary HAVERCROFT and they were later to become Lily Maud PARISH's great, great paternal grandparents.

Francis and Elizabeth HARE had seven children, all born and baptised in Broughton by Brigg LIN:

1. Jenny HARE (1792-) the first time this Christian name has been recorded during all my numerous researches.

. Tamar HARE (1794-) a daughter.
3. Sarah HARE (1795-1795).

. John HARE (1796-1798).

. Kitty HARE (1799-1799).
6. Francis HARE junior (1800-1881) married Ann SHEPHERD, lived in Appleby LIN and in their eighties both were
on Parish Relief.

Ann HARE (1804-1885) baptised on 15 April 1804, the future wife of William GREEN junior.


Francis HARE senior died in 1846 aged seventy-three. His wife, Elizabeth (née RATCLIFF) had already died in 1835, aged sixty-seven.
