William TYRIE senior was baptised in Clunie on 13 July 1822 and by the age of nine, he and his family had moved to Little Dunkeld. In 1844, he was living at 135 Rose Street, Edinburgh and employed as a coachman. William senior married Margaret MEIKLE on 1 October 1844 at the parish church of St George, Edinburgh. Her father was James MEIKLE, a coachman of Largo House, Edinburgh. William TYRIE senior and Margaret had one child: 1. Elizabeth TYRIE was baptised on 15 July 1845 at St Cuthberts, Edinburgh. On 14 November 1873 at the West Manse, Rutherglen in the county of Lanarkshire, Elizabeth, spinster and domestic servant of Bankhead House, Rutherglen married Robert HUTCHISON junior, a bachelor and a coal miner of 14 Spittal Row, Mill Street, Rutherglen. His father was Robert HUTCHISON senior, a coal miner, and his mother was Mary (née McGEE) HUTCHISON. Robert junior and Elizabeth (née TYRIE) HUTCHISON had three children. Robert junior moved to Lancashire and became a policeman in the Lancashire Constabulary. Fortunately, for his present day family, during this time he visited a photographer wearing his police uniform and from his clearly visible collar number, we were able to trace his career details.
