4. Elizabeth CADE (1805-1858) was literate, a dressmaker and married John BUTLER, a cordwainer (shoemaker) and landowner from Toynton in 1823 at Willoughby. Their children were all born in Sloothby: William (1820-) who became a joiner and was still a bachelor at the age of 57; Emily (1827-) who married Thomas HAINES in Willoughby cum Sloothby in 1847; Catherine (1830-1901 Skegness) a seamstress married William INGOLDBY of Grimoldby and they moved to Orby and raised a family; Cain (1836-) a wheelwright, married Eliza EPTON and lived with his family in Spilsby.

5. Jane (1809-) who married William FORMAN, a labourer, in 1834 at Farlesthorpe where they both signed the register. They lived in Bilsby with their three children, Thomas, Jane and William junior.


Frances Ele CADE was buried in August 1834 at Farlesthorpe St Andrews as was his wife, Mary née DAWSON in February 1837.

My four X great grandfather Francis Ele CADE 1762 - 1834

Francis Ele CADE, the eldest child of William CADE and Jane (née COUPLAND) CADE, was baptised in 1766, at Farlesthorpe. Scant information about him has been found and no clues to the origin of his middle name.

Francis Ele, a bachelor, and Mary DAWSON, a spinster, married at Farlesthorpe in 1793 and both signed the register.

Children:

1.
John CADE, my direct line, was baptised on 22 June 1794 in Farlesthorpe.

2. George CADE (1795-), married Lucy DALES, a minor, in 1819 at Willoughby Church. He was a labourer, born in Farlesthorpe. George and Lucy had a large family of thirteen children: Rebecca (1819-1820); Rebecca (1820-), married John FARROW; Thomas Mary (1822-); Thomas (1824-1899 Cleethorpes); Joseph (1827-1832); William (1828-); Jane (1831-after 1851); Eliza (1834-) who was a general servant for Saint John LUCAS, a farmer of Farlesthorpe; Joseph (1837-); Mary (1840-1841); Mary (1842-) and Dinah (1842-).


3. William CADE (1800-1886). William's first wife was Ann PAUL of Mumby and she bore him five children in Alford; Frances (1830-1848) Sally (1832-1843); Ellen (1834-1840); Jane Wilson (1836-aft 1851) who was a house servant in 1851 living at Alford; and Francis (known as Frank) Paul (1839-1858), their only son who was buried in Willoughby churchyard. Ann, wife of William, died in 1843. William still had three children to raise Frances, Ellen and Francis and in the October of 1843 he married Miss Susanna HARNIS, a dressmaker and the daughter of a whaler man from Wainfleet All Saints. They both died in the Spilsby Union Workhouse, Susanna in 1879, aged 75 and William, in 1886, at the age of 86.
