Thomas CADE junior, son of Thomas senior and Susannah (née BEMROSE) CADE was born in 1852 in the small farming village of Bilsby. Like his brothers and sisters, Thomas junior left behind his rural home and went to live in Grimsby.
When he was 27 and living in Albert Street, he married a widow, Rebecca Ranson WILES on Christmas Day 1877, at the Free Methodist Chapel of Grimsby. Previously in 1866, at Louth Methodist Chapel, Rebecca Ranson COLE had married George WILES, a farmer of Ludborough when both were 19 years old. They had three children, Fred, Mary and Emma. After eight years of marriage, George died at Louth aged 27.
