Issue 'B'  PCBs are still available at 6UKP each

B  boards
Facility to fit either A or F pin-out Toko filters. With A pin-out filters the lowest frequency can now be below 700MHz.

The crystal oscillator input/output is now tracked to a pad for the SMA connector.

Important
The 'B' issue board has a small, unintentional, error. There is a track break between the pads for R2 and R6. This is difficult to see by eye. You must bridge solder this break.


 Box fitting.
 
Scribe a line16.5mm below the rim of the box. This is the groundplane side edge. There should then be approximately 11.3mm of space between the component side of the PCB and the other rim of the box. Check the photos at the top of this page to see which corners of the PCB to file to allow the PCB to fit the box.

Feed back from numerous builders of the DDK2001confirmes that the design is easy to build, easy to align and meets the claimed spec.

I have been informed of one version, fitted with an output filter for about 390MHz, that is now the lowest frequency unit in use!

I have decided not to have any boards
made to 'C' issue just yet as I still have a large stock of the 'B' issue boards available.

No one has reported needing to use the 390nH inductor, L2, across the crystal in order to pull it onto frequency.

One useful tip:
The addition of a 10nH inductor across the input of the TOKO helical filter helps to achieve a better match and greater output at 1088MHz.
