Public Urination join us, fucking up your ears with grimey punk rock!

Punktastic, the UK's leading punk zine/record label/community are releasing the 4th installment of their Un-Scene compilation.  This time it's gonna be 99 30-second songs, they're still accepting submissions, so email over your track to paul@punktastic.com and get some more decent punk rock on there!  Already confirmed for the compilation is Despondent, Stashpocket, Sonic Boom Six, The Steal, Templeton Pek, 32framespersecond and about 30 others.  They're accepting submissions til the end of May, but the earlier you get it in, the better chance you have of getting on the compilation.  This is shaping up to be an amazing CD.  Good luck!

Ok I'm starting to get back to normal life now I have internet again and a lot of my uni work is out the way, and have done a shitload of new reviews, some of them are up now on the reviews page, by Life Sentence, XisLoaded/Iamthedoor, ClayPigeon, Human Targets, The StopMotion Men, LAP, Obsessive Compulsive and Elvis is Dead.

Don't forget the gigs on Thursday 15th and Thursday 22nd at the Shed, Leicester.  There's plenty more in the pipeline too, we're going to make it a regular thing.  YAY.

15th February

Thanks to all the people who came along to the Firebug on the 12th, sorry to anyone who couldn't get in, the bouncers were being over-zealous and there was nothing we could do about it.  Rest assured we won't be putting on another gig there and all future gigs will be ALL AGES!

We've got another 2 gigs on in March.  On the 15th the incredible Chief are coming from Liverpool with their massive hardcore show, think of a cross between Comeback Kid, Bigwig and Propagandhi - but even better!  On the support is Despondent, Full Circle, Flaming Aces and Jacob's Fable.  On the 22nd sees Crewe's Stash Pocket coming with their blast of fast bastard melodic punk, supported by Accidental President, Fat Kids in Jumpsuits, Round 2 and Hired Goons.  Both of these gigs will be at the Shed in Leicester and will be £4 to get in.  It's very important you print out a flyer before you come, if you don't it'll be £5 to get in.  Bring all your mates along to these gigs they should be cracking nights.  If anyone wants to help promote these please contact me (Nik), there are lots of very small things you could do that would help us tremendously.

My internet should be connected properly from 20th Feb so the updates will be more regular than they are currently.

A New Days Enemy will be reforming for 2 last gigs, one in Feb/March in Lincoln and 7th April at the Shed, in Leicester.  You simply HAVE to go, it will be your last chance EVER to see them.

For the next couple of weeks or so my updates will be few and far between as I have limited access to the internet, but I have a new account on the way so normal service will resume soon!  But please still keep sending in your news and CDs to review, I promise they will all get listened to and put up very soon.

We're putting on a gig at Firebug, Leicester on 12th Feb (next to the Market Street McDonalds) featuring the incredible 3 Storeys High, Despondent, Accidental President, Fat Kids In Jumpsuits and More Amour. If you fancy helping out with the promotion for this gig, please email me, we're gonna blow the roof off the place!

There's a shitload of new bands gonna join us here in the next few days so keep your eyes peeled, they're all gonna feature on the new punkscene.co.uk compilation given away at the gigs on 28th and 30th November at the Shed, Leicester, as are some new tracks by some of our longstanding bands, so pop along early if you want a copy, we don't have an infinite supply!

The Ruined have a new album out, it's pretty amazing so you should go and buy it here.  They've got some tracks up on their myspace as a preview.

All Or Nothing have got a load of new tracks on their myspace page, fast and frantic as ever with some killer melodies in there.

Accidental President are recording in the next few weeks, so expect some new stuff from them just after Christmas.

New reviews for The Minor Fall, I Killed Pharoah, Pink Widow, Pray for Hayden and a split CD from Paul Marshall/Tascam Tapes.  I still have a pile to wade through, so if you've sent me a CD, don't worry, it'll get reviewed in the next week or so.

Heart Attack are touring for 8 dates on the 3 Storeys High 60 gigs in 60 days tour in February. Punkscene are putting on the Leicester show on Feb 12th, so make sure you come to that one!

There's an awesome gig at the Attik, Leicester on Wednesday 12th July featuring Parachutes (Lockjaw Records), Switch NX, 3 Storeys High, My Jaded Hero and Accidental President.  We're definitely going - it should be a fucking stormer!  It's £5 on the door and starts around 7pm.  Now that's value for money!

It's been a while since the last update cos i've had all manner of uni exams and so forth, but that's all finished now so hope for some more regular updates.

One Gone No More have renamed themselves Heart Attack.

Hostyle Takeover are back with a new line up, they've got some gigs lined up and plan on recording soon too!

Last Orders are playing their last ever gig at the Shed, Leicester on July 10th.  Supporting is
Pankus The Henge, The Sedations, Lazy Love Makers and more!  They're giving away a shitload of stuff so pop along, have a skank and fill your pockets with goodies!

4 Step Process are also playing their last ever gig at the Vic Inn, Derby, supporting the incredible Sonic Boom Six.  Expect the place to be packed to the gills and get there early.  In the mean time check out their new version of Bullets on their myspace page

Switch NX are touring with Burton's own 3 Storeys High and will be coming to a town near you!

Pennychew have parted ways with singer Jess, but don't despair! They're here to stay and have even shoved up a new website!

Things are a changing here at Punkscene!  This news page is going to get way more betterer and more usefuler than ever.  If you have any news about any of the Punkscene bands or about anything to do with the midlands Punkscene, drop us an email!

Sadly there have been two departures from the roster.  Newspeak and Hostyle Takeover have sadly split.  Hostyle Takeover had been involved with us from the beginning and helped promote us no end, they will be missed.

But don't despair!  A new band has been added in the shape of One Gone No More, sickeningly talented mini-punks from Derby.

New Punkscene website up.  We now have some new sections.  The Venues section should help bands know a little more about venues they are playing at soon and give punters a bit of an idea about places they might go.  The Promo section is for promoters and bands to help get in touch with each other.  We also have a Reviews section for unsigned bands, but we'll need material to review! so contact Nik for a postal address.

Sorry bout the lack of updates, I've been proper busy recently.  Anyway - Accidental President have been added to the line up with their hard-hitting blend of ska and punk rock and No Industries with their awesome Epitaph style skate punk.    Hoofbite are another great adddition with their crazy fast pop-punk madness.

We are also sorry to announce that End It All have split and Special Guests are soon to be going their separate ways, but not without a GOODBYE GIG - make sure you attend their last ever gig with Switch NX, To What End, The Airport Scene and Adeline @ The Charlotte on 7th September. 

In happier news, 4 Step Process are undergoing an exciting line-up change which should see them making some cracking music some time in the future.

There is a gig on the 17th September promoted exclusively by Punkscene.  It's at the Attik, Leicester with Despondent, Random Outcome, No Industries, Doof and My Jaded Hero.
