Honour Among None - The Art of Survival

5. Riot
6. Face to Face (Radio Edit)
Well, it's that kind of metal again, shouty verses and sung choruses. The vocals
are pretty well done actually, the tone on the low and high screams is fat and
obviously works well against the palm-muted guitar riffs, vibrato harmonic
squeals and hammering, double-kicking drums.
There's obvious influences from the big boys of metal, as the vocals are often
similar to Machine Head and the song structures build up in a similar way to One
Minutes Silence. There's probably a million other bands that I could name here,
pointing to the fact that Honour Among None have well and truly immersed
themselves into an long-established genre - a very risky move seeing as they
have little to distinguish themselves from the ocean of bands already propping
up the scene.
My favourite song on here is Riot, it sounds quite different to the rest of
their tracks, with a heavier emphasis on the rhythms giving an almost tribal
feel to the music. The song I like the least is Lost, although initially quite
catchy, 7 minute later and 10 times through the same chorus melody (yes 10
times) is sure to frustrate anyone - a radio edit of that song would have been
much more useful especially as it sounds the most commercial.
