If you're a regular user of myspace, you've probably come across Koopa at some point, they have a very active and dedicated street-team that are constantly keeping the bulletin boards buzzing with talk of their favourite band. Despite all this I'd not really listened to Koopa before I got sent this CD single for some reason.

Anyway onto their music, which is pop-punk with an essex accent without sounding forced. Although not a wildly innovative idea, it does make it sound different to most other pop-punk bands out there whose vocals are either mid-Atlantic or nondescript, and I think that will make shine above a lot of other bands in the game.

Blag Steal and Borrow is about the struggle of a band on tour, certainly not untouched lyrical territory but Koopa have added lots of personal references to make the song their own. This song is interesting mostly in its structure, as they make you wait for the chorus right til near the end and then it's relentless to the finish. It's loads of fun and there's nothing much really you can say against it, and if anyone does, just tell 'em to lighten up.

Apart from the acoustic version, which obviously will appeal to a whole different market, I don't really see the point in the other versions of the song. The live version is exactly the same as the normal version - only with crowd noise, and the remix is a terrible attempt to make the track more 'dance-music' like, but sounds like it's done by someone with no appreciation for dance-music.

But go and download the title track and the acoustic version of the song though (i mean officially of course, you know like from iTunes or summat) and get this band some of the success they deserve for working so hard.
