Haddonfield - Bar Brawls and Downfalls
1. Panic
2. Romero
3. Bar Brawls and Downfalls
4. A & E
5. Broke
Blimey! These are great! Their first track Panic hit me with the same kind of
impact as the first time I heard Billy Talent or Alkaline Trio, and
Haddonfield's songwriting is easily comparable to those bands. Their music has
the kind of lyrics that give you a buzz to read and complete the relationship
between the band and the listener.
The tracks on this CD were recorded in 2 seperate places, some by Greg Haver
(who recorded Lost Prophets and Bullet for my Valentine among others) and some
by Nick Lloyd (who has recorded various Welsh bands, none of which I've heard
of). The Haver produced tracks (Romero, A & E and Broke) somehow
lack the depth of the others during the instrumental sections and could
definitely do with a remix to bring out the best sounds.
This is one for those who want to hear some compelling, singalong, clever,
moshable punk rock.
