Stealbackyourlife tease you from time-to-time with promising head-melting rhythms, quicker-than-the-blink-of-an-eye time and texture changes, full-on crunching riffs and spitting vocals, but then all too often let you down by settling into less-than-interesting, soft, flowery rock with drawn-out melodies that are maybe to create an atmosphere, but to me sound dreary and I'm just waiting until they blow the speakers again. Perhaps it's my short attention span preventing me from appreciating Stealbackyourlife once again, but I can't help feeling that they should make these quiet parts of their music shorter and snappier instead of messing about with ambient build-ups for what feels like most of their songs.
This CD is for those people who like excitement, but only in frustratingly small doses.
