Life Sentence are back with a full-length album for all you fans of melodic
metal stuff. At the beginning of the album it seemed as if they had found an
entirely different hardcore sound from their previous catchy style, but a couple
of tracks later and they are back on form, delighting my ears with some intense
sweeping melodies and thick screams.
The thing is, Life Sentence use a similar formula for almost all of their songs
- they all contain a heavy metal palm-muted guitar riff in D - usually at the
start, switch into some shouty verses and open out into their euphoric choruses
in which they excel.
I've no doubt that if you listen to a few of their tracks you'll enjoy them
immensely, but a whole album is kind of overkill on a limited selection of
ideas.
