Fads in punk rock come and go, people have dabbled in ska, emo, metal and everything else you can think of. The Penitraitors are dabble-less in any such sub-genres and just blast out a whole album of pretty raw punk rock in the vein of 7 seconds and Youth Brigade. It's decidedly British with its half-spoken, half-shouted political vocals that occasionally break into a tune, but rather than just blasting through a load of poor quick chord sequences, The Penitraitors show some promise with more interesting and melodic guitar lines.
It's a shame the production on this CD is so mediocre, if the sound was a whole lot fatter, with some careful compression on some of vocals and drums, and some better EQing on each instrument to make them sound brighter, we could have had something more special on our hands.
