A Day Called Desire - Vital Signs

1. Waiting in Hiding
2. The Insomniac
3. Who We Were
4. Throwing Shapes

Here's a cool mixture between emo rock with heart-wrenching melodies and pop-punk-metal. Every track has its own character on this CD - something which I wholly endorse - while keeping a coherence in style throughout. I'd say the singer sounds mid-way between Circa Survive and Saves the Day and has a talent to behold with variations in his voice to pull off the sensitive moments as well as the more dramatic ones.

The layers in the music from the guitars give something to listen to constantly, whether it's palm-muted twiddling on the upper strings, dual-attack soloing or downtuned stabs there's an unending supply of interest.

I could listen to this for a long time, it's just beautiful.
