The Defiled - Demo 2007

1. Red Tape
2. Permanent Reminder
3. The End of Innocence
We've got a sweet combination of metal with plenty of synth effects, snarling hardcore vocals and heavy brutal breakdowns. The electronic elements give a nice sheen to the music and is one element of the Defiled that set them apart from the bulk of similar music. The other things that separate them from the crowd are firstly their passionate vocals, which are spot on with their balance between angst and occasional melody to break up the hardcore, and secondly their great sense of structure for their tracks, which assures that they never get boring. There's plenty of change all through all three of these tracks, keeping them epic at round about 5 minutes per song, but never dull. There's always a new texture or rhythmic idea for them to explore and they express their music from every angle. Shit, this is good.
