Vocals do three things in rock music; they can innocently blend into the background, they can stand out and blow you away, or they can ruin everything.  Of course it's all a matter of taste and personal opinion, and the fact that I don't like the vocals in Insofar, especially when they rely on them as their main feature, means I'm not going to enjoy this.  Somehow they sound as if they'd be more suited to singing power ballads rather than this edgy rock music that lies somewhere between Lost Prophets and Foo Fighters in style.  Sure, the singer is very talented and the tunes are sometimes ok, but for me it doesn't work.  There's some decent music behind it all occasionally when they break out of the straight mid-tempo boredom, but these occasions aren't enough to save it for me.
