Why this name?
Our Original guitarist Jimmy came up with it after complaining he did not like the name, The Sodapops. The rest of the band didn`t really care either way.

Do you play live?
Highlights so far were touring Holland and Supporting The Queers and The Groovie Ghoulies

Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Maybe, more likely to wipe our arses on it though.  Perhaps if they got us really pissed, sucked alot of atom cock and waved the money right in our faces

Band History:
The Atoms formed in mid 2000

Joe - Originally Jimmy Atom and me were just messing around on a 4-track. I left my last band cos it got to political and arty. Which was odd as none of us could play but I met Jess at a trampy squat (she didn't live there!) in Nottingham about two years ago. She said she liked Screeching Weasel and played drums so I demanded she joined my band. That's about it for me really.
Jess - I'd been giving playing music a miss for a while until I met Joe and Jimmy in about October 2001. It started from there and it was something I immediately realized I was going to be doing from that point on... to date I was right.
Kirt - Id been friends of the Atoms for a few years, I was previously guitarist in The Pittstops and we had done a few gigs together. Their last bassist had left and Jess asked me if I would play bass for them. Im a midget and I have tiny hands but I said I would give it a good go.
