In November 2007 I was asked to go through the school's archives 'looking for material suitable for an exhibition to celebrate the school's 125th anniversary in September, 2008. Target date for completion - the end of term July, 2008'.

Well, I did it - just. Here are the results. During the project it became clear that there were two situations in which the exhibition might be used. These meant that two versions were necessary, one half the size of the original. Here are the themes for the exhibition:

Title*

Aston 125 - Timeline*

Headmasters*

Staff down the Ages*

Buildings (two boards)

Houses

World War II

"One Term Away"

Aston's Eleven Knights*

Aston's Culture Club* (two boards)

Sport* (two boards)

Beyond our gates

Aston's values*

(A last word)**

* Included in the 'short' version

** They banned this one!

Acknowledgements

The danger in acknowledging the help of others is that you leave somebody out. Well, here goes ...

My contemporary, John Perfect, for the cartoon characters I have named "Aston Ant" and "Rugby Ric".

At school, my 'boss' for this project, the Deputy Headmaster - Frank Hedley.

Technician staff members Roger Cockbill and Faizal Ghumra, the ladies in the office, the staff and students of the Art department and who, in my day, would have been called the School Porter: Matthew Eustace.
