Perkins 65 - The guests

| Home | Index | Past | Personal | Present | Guestbook |

My guests included 26 relatives and 29 friends. Another three friends had to cancel at the very last minute.

We were seated at six tables, to which we gave names rather than numbers. For these we used the maiden names of some of my ancestresses: Spargo, Nicklin, Andrew, Bassett, Waters and Sanders. But Tim elaborated on these and they became: the Amazing Andrews; the Sparkling Spargos; the Super Sanders's; the Wonderful Waters's; the Brilliant Bassetts; and the Nice Nicklins!

Without being asked, my second cousin Bob Shakespeare went round and photographed every table. Thanks, Bob.

Amazing Andrews

The 'Amazing Andrews' was my table. The 'Nice Nicklins' table reckoned I chose my companions so that I would be the youngest on the table!

You can see Aunty Marion (Williams), Isobel Shakespeare, Mary Newsom, Tim, and Ann and Mike Hutchinson. Aunty Winnie (Billingham) has her back to you and Aunty Connie (Shakespeare) is, unfortunately, completely obscured!

Brilliant Bassetts

The 'Brilliant Bassetts' table included my cousins Richard Billingham and Gill Fisher and their spouses, as well as my old school chums Peter Band, Jim Parker, and John and Margaret Donnelly (the back of whose heads is all you can see!).

Super Sanders

The 'Super Sanders's' table.

L to R: Wendy Shakespeare, Peter and Diana Parry (just!), Ron and Audrey Woodward, cousin Keith Williams.

Pam Williams, Geoff Bowen and cousin Judith Bowen are obscured.

Nice Nicklins

The 'Nice Nicklins' included cousin Margaret Milnes (who is obscuring her lifelong friend Joy Hastilow), her husband Norman, Sharon and Martin Brinkworth, Lynette Shakespeare (all relatives). Neighbours John and Jean Mortimer are obscured by the back of cousin Ann! Her husband Jochem Schmidt also has his back to the camera.

Wonderful Waters's

At the 'Wonderful Waters's' table were seated Audrey Wright, (the backs of) Geoff and Brenda Page, Barbara and Tim Janes, cousins Mary Smith and Roy Shakespeare and Ted Wright, who is obscuring Derek and Janet Sanderson.

Manoj & Susan

Here I am with recent friends Susan and Manoj Khanna. They were sitting at 'The Sparkling Spargos' table!

As for the rest of them ...!

Lynette & John

With Lynette Shakespeare and my neighbour John Mortimer at the 'Nice Nicklins' table.
