During the 2006 reunion Harry Grove (1960) took this photograph of a carved monogram in what we knew as the Common Room:

The initials look like 'FBE'. The builders of the Hall, the Marquesses of Anglesey, have the family name of Paget. So who was 'FBE'?

The indefatigable Martin Baker (1961) has discovered that a Mr Burnett owned Longdon Hall in 1940. This is consistent with the 'B' being prominent, and suggests his initials might have been F E.
