On 1st August 2007, the 18 troops of Birmingham's Spitfire District held Sunrise and Sunset ceremonies to commemorate the centenary of Scouting. By remarkable good fortune these were held on Hodge Hill Common, only yards from where we used to meet. Three of us went to the Sunrise ceremony and five to that at Sunset, renewed our Scout Promise, and joined in the celebrations. (L. to R.): Michael Davison, John Page, Roy England, Geoff Page |

The October 2008 reunion was notable for several reasons. Three of those present had made very long journeys to be there. Andrew 'Cuth' Cozens, from Cornwall (just!), David Yates from Plymouth and Harvey Jones from Sussex. It was the first reunion to be attended by a grandchild - Roy England's Thomas. And it preceded by a week the 80th birthday of Peter Patterson, whose nickname someone had remembered as 'Bo'sun'.
