At my mother's 80th birthday party (in August, 1987) we decided to start taking ladder photos of the following generations too! First, my generation:
Fourteen out of a total of 17 cousins, with an age range of 36 to 52. Only the Canadian cousins were missing. We did have problems with Peter, though. He tried to stand lower down the ladder than his age permitted - but the girls were on to him!
Now we were into the swing of it we decided to inflict the same punishment on the next generation:
This time nineteen out of 25 members of this generation, and an age range of 3 to 25.
By the time of my mother's 90th birthday party (in August, 1997) there were two members of the next generation. They felt very aggrieved at not being afforded the same privilege:
The numbers refer to the family numbering system.
The next ladder photograph was taken at Shakespeare 2000.
There is even a Canadian ladder photograph!
And here is the latest ladder photograph, taken on the occasion of a visit by my youngest cousin (David Shakespeare) from Canada - his first in 35 years!
