Tolleshunt D'Arcy

Below is a photo of our village maypole. This is one of the first things that travelers meet on entering the village and although a maypole now it was the site back in 1710 where all the village hangings took place. In the early 1700’s it was removed as it interfered with the traffic and a more appropriate site was established.
