Eclipse versus Eclipse-II Notes

They both have an axial-superlaser, but despite being considered a single class by SWTC this is one of the few major points of resemblance.

Eclipse
As seen in Dark Empire

Eclipse-II
As seen in Empires End

Thick, almost cylindrical, shape.

Vs

Much slenderer, more the classic Star Destroyer shape.

Large docking facilities, at least one accessed from side.

Vs

Only hangars visible are small entrance/exits just behind forward fin.

Massive multilayered dorsal superstructure.

Vs

Dorsal surface is almost flat with superstructure limited to a small dorsal arrangement near aft.

Complex bridge with multiple protrusions.

Vs

Much cleaner simpler more normal looking bridge.

Almost matt black hull plating.

Vs

Hull plating is more a dark gunmetal grey than black, which allows the regular rectangular pattern of plating to be seen.

Forward fin is downwards extension of keel.

Vs

Forward fin is distinct structure limited to bow.

There are probably more, but I didn't enjoy either comic enough to want to go through several large cardboard boxes to find them. It comes down though to the fact that Eclipse-II is a lot slimmer partially because it only has a small superstructure, and this is too distinct a difference to (unlike some SWTC "classes") be considered as a simple case of an artists style or differences between artists styles.
