In 2002, to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the introduction of the Austin Healey, Peter and Ann, accompanied by Julian Bowen and his Navigator Laurence MacDowell in Julian's 1958 100/6, plus Clive Randall and his sister Pamela in their 1948 Healey Westland, drove Route 50 from the Atlantic Coast of the USA through to Lake Tahoe where the US Healey Club had organised a massive Healey meet, and then onto the Pacific Coast.

Following slightly different routes back East, the three Healeys covered some 9,000 miles each in 5 weeks. Follow Peter & Ann's Open Roads 2002 adventures across the USA by clicking on www.easterton.com and following the prompts.

Peter managed to clear his Healey from Liverpool Docks on August 1st and then drove south to join in the 2 day Thruxton Circuit part of the UK Healey Club's 50th Anniversary Celebrations. The only Austin Healey to have been at both the Lake Tahoe 550 + meet and the 600 + UK AH meetings.

This year sees XRU 100 taking a rest with a possible 2nd European Meet in St. Moritz next year and then - who knows what adventures we might get up to !
