Season
2010-2011 league & Cup News
The Ridgeons League Annual
General Meeting was held at Brewers Green
Lane on Saturday 26th June. There
will be 17 teams in Division One for season
2009/10 – no clubs were relegated from the
Premier Division with Cambridge University
Press being admitted as a new team. Diss
Town will, therefore, have four less leagues
games to play in a season which starts on
Saturday 7th August. The fixtures
are expected to be published on Monday 19th
July.
In the cup draws made Diss
were given a bye into the 1st
Round of The Ridgeons League Cup where they
will be at home to Gorleston on Tuesday 26th
October. Diss were also given a bye into the
1st Round of The Ridgeons League
Division One Cup where they will be at home
to Thetford on Tuesday 2nd
November.
Diss Reserves will be one of
13 teams playing in the Ridgeons Reserves
League North –Thetford having left the
league.
Diss Under-18s will again be
one of 10 teams playing in the Ridgeons
Youth League Central Division – Bungay move
into this section with Felixstowe and Walton
moving out to accommodate the geographical
split of the overall league membership. In
the Ridgeons Youth League Cup Diss Under-18s
were given a home Preliminary Round tie
against Great Yarmouth with the winners
being at home in the1st Round
against Kirkley and Pakefield.
'A' team application
Diss Town will have an 'A' Team playing in
The Crown Fire League for this 2010-2011 season.
Under 18s & Reserves
Managers
Diss Under-18s will have a change of management
for the 2010/11 season. Mark Abbott and Jon Jacob have stepped
down after one season in charge and will be replaced by two Diss
First Team players, Simon Jackson and Craig Skipp. Any player,
who should have had their 15th birthday by 1st
August 2010, who is interested in joining the squad for next
season should ring Simon Jackson on 07871 323181 for further
details. In addition Paul Drake, who had assisted Garth Good and Ian
Barber, will take over as Diss Reserve Manager for next season.
Youth Team Coaches Needed
Diss Town Youth will be looking to add more
coaches for next season.

The Diss Town
Football Club House is available for hire for various parties –
birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, engagements, school
reunions, etc. Also meeting rooms are available. Contact the club on 01379 651223 for

facilities, which include a darts board and pool table, should
